Some times all one can do is chuckle. In this instance, a hearty bellow might be more appropriate. Eleven years into the 21 century and a front running candidate for the highest elected office in the country, arguably the world pronounces last week …..
"I do believe that the issue of global warming has been politicized," Perry answered. "I think there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so that they will have dollars rolling into their projects. I think we're seeing it almost weekly or even daily, scientists who are coming forward and questioning the original idea that man-made global warming is what is causing the climate to change. Yes, our climates change. They've been changing ever since the earth was formed.” - Texas Gov. Rick Perry
With his own state encountering its driest 7 month drought on record, you might think Gov. Perry might possibly be a bit more open to the possible effects of climate change. A 2010 report of the National Academy of Sciences report 97% of scientists believe in man made client change. Unfortunately these same scientists are hard pressed to fight the “well oiled” (no pun intended) coffers of Exxon Mobil and the Koch brothers to propagate arguments to help dispel logic.
Supporting an ideology of less government is fine but when scientific fact is grossly distorted and fed to the masses to further an agenda not congruent with your own, a line has been crossed.
